Long Form Improvised Comedy is so much more than acting like a clown who's refused to memorize their lines. It is a practiced, methodic art form that makes the user more empathetic, a better listener, a better communicator, confidant, and a little less humorless. The skills and techniques learned doing this craft, don't just belong on stage, but can be utilized in classrooms, workplaces, social events, and any other environment that requires healthy group dynamics to thrive. Improv for Policymakers is designed to strengthen all of the above and more, helping everyone involved become a well-rounded and dynamic addition to any and all future endeavors.

Toby Gastler started performing short-form improv on the Nic of Time Players in the St. Louis Area. From there he continued his love of both improv comedy & stand-up by becoming a regular performer in the Omaha Comedy Scene. Being an alum of the Backline School of Improv, this allowed him to perform on the house-long improv teams, Sitcom, Cage Free, Dad Jokes, Scandals & Animals, & the Friday night featured show, Interrogated. From Omaha, Toby traveled all over Ukraine as a Peace Corps Volunteer, using improv to help teach English, Drama Integration in the classroom, & as an artform itself. Currently, Toby is climbing the ladder at The Annoyance Improv Theater, producing the monthly show, The Craig T. Nelson, & performing on the Indie Team, Sea Anatomy.
