Myth of Miscommunication
The first-year workshop, "The Myth of Miscommunication," debunks the myth that sexual assault can occur as a result of confusion or misunderstanding. This workshop is built upon research in psychology and linguistics that shows that patterns of communication and refusal are consistent across circumstances of interaction, and that nuanced signals of deferral or refusal are evident and recognizable across gender, as well. All first-year students will attend this workshop, delivered by Yale's Communication and Consent Educators, during their Orientation

Health and Sexuality
The "Health and Sexuality" workshops engages all first year students in conversation about making healthy sexual choices. The workshop, led by Community Health Educators (CHEs) covers sexual diversity at Yale, physical and emotional intimacy, and introduces students to the resources available to them as Yale undergraduates. All first-year students will attend this workshop during their Orientation
