Information from Housing
Some general reminders for the Whitehall community:
Events: Check out our events on the right side and bottom of this newsletter. More details about our Halloween event will be released in the coming days.
Smoking: Yale is a smoke free campus. Anyone caught smoking on housing property could have their contract terminated. If you need help quitting smoking, please follow this link.
Bikes: If you have a bike on campus please be sure to register it with the housing office by contacting Monique.moore@yale.edu. Any unregistered bikes may be removed.
Parking: The parking lot gate is now functional. If you haven't already, please email a copy of your vehicle registration to Laura Bertonelli at laura.bertolini@yale.edu.
Recycling: We have limited space for recycling. Please flatten your cardboard.
Dumpsters: We have three dumpsters at Whitehall. If the first one is full, please put your trash in the second or third one. Too often is the first dumpster overflowing and the second one completely empty.
Travel: Travel outside of Connecticut is strongly advised against during this time. If you must leave, please refer to the COVID-19 Travel guidelines on the right of this Newsletter.
Children's Playgroup
Thank you to those who completed the intake survey. Hope your child(ren) enjoy your welcome kit! If your child is under 2, ensure they are supervised when they use the art supplies. Here’s a list of few activities you can try with your child with the provided supplies:
Bath art – tape paper in the bathtub and let your child get creative! You can watch them create a masterpiece and not have to stress about a cleanup.
Have your young one do a hand print at the beginning of the year and do a comparison at the end of the year!
Save the paint so your little one can sign holiday cards with their tiny handprints.
Catch the bubbles or count the bubbles with your child.
Make animals, food, or buildings with the play dough. Or bury small items for your child to excavate! Have them guess what may be hidden beforehand.
Use the chalk to play hopscotch with your child or use the drawing book and create giant drawings on the sidewalk for people to enjoy.
I follow @busytoddler & happytoddlerplaytime on Instagram and both provide great ideas for children’s activities! I will share some ideas on an ongoing basis but feel free to follow on your own as well.
If you haven't done so already please click the link below to join the children's group campus groups for ongoing updates.
