ABOUT PRODUCER / FILMMAKER JESSICA W. LEUNG:
Jessica W. Leung, originally from Los Angeles, California, worked in Film & Television for seven years, four of which included projects co-produced between the U.S. and China from 1997-2001. In 2001, she moved to Barcelona, Spain and worked in independent video production, live cultural event production and then remotely with Airbnb as the lead of the EU Language and Market Team as they expanded into Europe in 2011.
Since 2006, she has been working on independent documentaries featuring marginalized communities who are facing potential extinction of their culture and traditions in an inevitably shifting global panorama. Deeply intrigued and inspired by what moves people, their passions, rhythms and culture drives her desire to connect and share these stories with others.
ABOUT FILMMAKER / CINEMATOGRAPHER PACO BELTRÁN:
Paco Beltrán (Barcelona, Spain) has an extensive artistic background in visual and scenic arts across diverse mediums ranging from photography, lighting design, to writing theater plays or participating in Zero Gravity Art and Science projects in Russia. He has traveled the globe working with Experimental artists such as Marcel┬Àlí Ant├║nez Roca, Albert Vidal, Simona Levi and numerous international choreographers.
In 2006 he created DosVelas Pictures in collaboration with Jessica W. Leung and combined his technical experience with the creative in his directing work on music videos and both self-produced and commissioned documentary projects.
The screening will run from from 1:00PM EST–2:30PM EST, with the discussion following from 2:30PM EST–3:00PM EST
