Judge Ana de Alba serves on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. A native of California’s Central Valley, Judge de Alba spent more than a decade in private practice, where her extensive pro bono work included employment, labor, and immigration matters. She has served on the boards of organizations including California Rural Legal Assistance, Legal Aid at Work, and the Central Valley Access to Justice Coalition. Judge de Alba joined the Fresno County Superior Court in 2018, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California in 2022, and the Ninth Circuit in 2023. She received her B.A., with highest honors, and J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.

Professor Michael Wishnie will moderate the discussion.
