ACS invites you to join us for “Inside the Federal Bench: A Conversation with the Hon. J. Paul Oetken” on Wednesday, November 12th from 12:10-1:00 PM in SLB 121. Lunch will be served, and the discussion will be moderated by Professor Abbe Gluck.

Judge J. Paul Oetken has served on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York since 2011. He was the first openly gay man to be confirmed as an Article III judge. Before joining the bench, Judge Oetken worked at Jenner & Block, the Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel, and as Associate White House Counsel to President Bill Clinton. He later practiced at Debevoise & Plimpton and served as Associate General Counsel at Cablevision. A 1991 graduate of Yale Law School, he clerked for Judge Louis F. Oberdorfer (D.D.C.), Judge Richard Cudahy (7th Circuit), and Justice Harry Blackmun on the U.S. Supreme Court.
