NAMI Elm City works in partnership with NAMI Connecticut and is an affiliate of The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). NAMI is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. The affiliate serves the Greater New Haven area and offers understanding to anyone concerned about mental illnesses and the treatment of mental illness. NAMI Elm City plays an active role providing support, education, and advocacy at the community level. NAMI offers support groups to let people know they are not alone and information when needed. Our affiliate speaks publicly to educate others about mental health conditions and provide educational programs, free of cost, to youth and young adults, parents, individuals, and families affected by mental health conditions. The affiliate advocates for effective and timely services from local service providers and offers hope to those experiencing the impact of mental illness.
