Join us in an introduction to project management basics with the outstanding team from Habitus (https://habitusincorporated.com/). Why? Of all the transferable skills that employers across all environmental career sectors value, project management always ranks near the very top. And, it's easy to see why. Every employer needs professionals and managers with the ability to organize complex projects involving simultaneous activities and expenditures over time, resulting in final deliverables of high quality that are on schedule and under budget. It's not easy! Rather than review an existing guide to project management, this workshop explores a number of key questions that practitioners use when tackling and managing environmental challenges. The instructors draw examples and lessons learned from their work across scales, sectors, cultures and continents, as well as from experiences of workshop participants. You'll leave with a stronger understanding of the core basics of good project management, and guidance to additional resources and networks to go deeper during your time at YSE ... and beyond.
