About Professional Skills Modules (PSMs): Professional Skills Modules are short, workshop-style opportunities for YSE master's students to be introduced to professional skills that all environmental professionals are likely to use in their careers, regardless of your specialization. Most MEM students are required to take 4 PSMs over the course of two years in order to graduate. Dual degree MEMs need 3 PSMs to graduate, and MEM-5 students need 2. MESc, MF and MFSc students are very welcome and encouraged to attend PSMs, although they are not required.

About the Introduction to Project Management PSM: Join the professional team from Habitus, Inc. (https://habitusincorporated.com/) in an exploration of project management basics - and a chance to practice core skills. The ability to effective design and manage projects from first vision to successful deliverable, within a defined budget and schedule, and with the resources available to you, is one of the most "in demand" professional skills mentioned by environmental employers. From scoping the project to assure you're focused on what's really important, to dealing with the inevitable problems and opportunities that arise along the way, you'll examine project management issues sure to be part of your post-graduate employment world. The Habitus instructors will use examples from their own experience, classroom style cases for small group learning, and questions arising from your own current academic and professional projects. Leave with a better understanding of project management skills that you can build on at YSE and beyond.
Food Provided (Registration with breakfast is from 8:30 am to 9:00 am. Instruction starts promptly at 9:00 am. Lunch is from ~noon to 12:30 pm. )
