A Conversation with David Pepper ('99) - Jan. 24 at 12:10pm. David Pepper is a lawyer, writer, former elected official, and professor. David served as the Chairman of the Ohio Democratic Party from 2015 to 2021 and played a crucial role in the passage of Ohio's referendum to enshrine the right to an abortion in the state constitution. In addition, David has extensive experience in local government, and currently teaches election and voting rights law. This event is co-hosted by the YLDems and ACS and will be moderated by Emily Bazelon ('00). Register here!

Yale Workshop on the Future of Constitutionalism - Jan. 19 from 10:30am to 6pm. This workshop, sponsored by the Oscar M. Ruebhausen Fund and the University of New South Wales, will bring together a small group of U.S. and comparative constitutional scholars to debate the future of constitutionalism – the pitfalls, as well as promise, of legal models of constitutionalism for the protection of rights and democracy, the plausible alternatives, and prospects for reimagining a more radical or transformative model of constitutionalism in the U.S. or elsewhere. The Politics of History and Records: A Conversation with Archivist of the United States Colleen Shogan - Jan. 31 at 2pm. Yale's Center for the Study of American Politics is hosting an event with Colleen Shogan, Archivist of the United States, to discuss, among other things, the workings of the National Archives, the challenges of running a federal agency, the role of the presidential library system, and the importance of record-keeping in a democracy.
