Join the Yale Law Democrats, South Asian Law Students Association, If/When/How, Election Law Society, and the American Constitution Society for a conversation with Vanita Gupta. 

Vanita Gupta served as the 19th United States Associate Attorney General, the third-ranking official at the Department of Justice, from 2021 to 2024. ASG Gupta was a leader in the DOJ and across the federal government on issues ranging from expanding community violence intervention programs to safeguarding reproductive freedom. Prior to joining the Biden Administration, ASG Gupta served as the President and CEO of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, and from 2014 to 2017, she served as Acting Assistant Attorney General and Head of the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division. ASG Gupta began her legal career as an attorney at the NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund and has served as Deputy Legal Director and Director of the Center for Justice at the ACLU.

ASG Gupta graduated magna cum laude from Yale University and received her law degree from New York University School of Law, where later she taught a civil rights litigation clinic for several years.
