Details

Support education and recreational programs at this treasured historic site!

Volunteers will meet at Dwight Hall promptly at 12:45pm and travel together via CT Transit bus to the site.

Volunteers will work indoors and outdoors to prepare and package STEAM learning kits used in schools across Connecticut and to maintain trails and natural areas surrounding the Museum at the edge of East Rock Park.

Volunteers must wear close-toed shoes and hair must be tied up.

The Museum preserves the site on which Eli Whitney constructed the first American factory in 1798. Today, it is a dynamic community hub providing workshops, apprenticeship opportunities, exhibits, and recreational opportunities for the public.
