The academic job market can be difficult to navigate, particularly as hiring practices, expectations, and priorities continue to evolve. Understanding how search committees approach the hiring process can help candidates prepare more effectively and approach the market with greater clarity.

In this session of the Academic Job Search Series, Humanities and Social Sciences PhD students and postdocs will hear directly from faculty with experience serving on academic search committees. The speakers will discuss how the academic job market has changed in recent years, what remains important to search committees, and how committees evaluate candidates throughout the hiring process.

The session will conclude with an opportunity for participants to ask questions and hear advice directly from the panelists.
