The Academic Job Search Series is a monthly event series that prepares GSAS students and postdocs across all five academic divisions for the academic job market. Each session focuses on a critical aspect of the faculty job search, offering practical strategies, expert guidance, and insights to help students navigate the process and build successful academic careers.

Join us for this inaugural session for the Humanities and Social Sciences. A panel of two tenure-track faculty will provide a candid overview of the hiring process – covering timelines, market trends, application expectations, and common pitfalls. This event is especially valuable for candidates planning to go on the market soon and will spotlight campus resources available to support the development of strong application materials.

Featured panelists include:
  • Care Eng ('12 PhD Music), Associate Professor of Music at Belmont University
  • Emma Zang, Associate Professor of Sociology & Biostatistics and Global Affairs at Yale University
Promotional support for this event is provided by the Yale Alumni Association (YAA). Also: we urge you to seek mentors on Yale’s online community-building platform: Cross Campus.
