About Us
The GSAS Alumni Engagement Office
Our dedicated staff partner with GSAS alumni leaders and campus partners to create and foster these relationships with alumni and students, through events, programs, mentorship, and service.
The Graduate School Alumni Association (GSAA) is the alumni leadership board for the Graduate School, dedicated to strengthening connections among alumni, fostering ties between students and alumni worldwide, and supporting the Graduate School’s strategic goals. The GSAA’s key initiatives are the Where Do I Go From Yale (WDIGFY) year-round programming, which connects Yale graduate students and recent graduates with alumni for career insights and networking opportunities.
Through these efforts, GSAA aims to create a thriving, interconnected community that benefits both alumni and current students.
- Founded in 1890 by Yale alumni who recognized the need for private funding to build and sustain Yale’s excellence. In 1992, the Yale Alumni Fund became a formal office within Yale’s Central Development Office and is currently managed by a team of fundraising professionals.
- A hallmark of the Yale Alumni Fund program is the network of peer-to-peer fundraising volunteers who solicit donations on behalf of Yale from others in their schools. Today, more than 1,500 alumni across the university solicit donations on behalf of Yale.
- Dollars raised for the Yale Alumni Fund are unrestricted in nature and provide support for Yale’s most pressing needs. Annually, the Yale Alumni Fund raises upwards of $40M in cash across all schools.
- Alumni donors give to the Yale Alumni Fund through many designations across Yale College, fourteen Graduate and Professional Schools and the Parents Fund. In the Graduate School, designations like the dean’s emergency fund provide support to students immediately as hardships arise. In 2024-2025, more than $230,000 was access by students in need.
