Details
In this interactive workshop, you will learn strategies that can help you maneuver American social justice discourse, and life in a diverse community. You will gain insights on what some sensitive topics are on and beyond campus; how to ask questions when you don't understand; what to do when you may have offended someone; and how to advocate for yourself and others.
This workshop will be led by Vanessa Bittner (she/her), OISS' Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiatives Fellow. Vanessa is an international student herself and is a fifth year PhD student studying Sociology. She is looking forward to having an open and honest conversation about the challenges of navigating unfamiliar discourse.
Space is limited for this event due to in-person, indoor COVID event guidelines, and masks will be required for all guests. You must register to attend. If spaces are full, please register for the waitlist in case we have last minute cancellations.
To-go sandwiches will be available at the end of the workshop.
