Pizza & Sanremo: OISS x YIS (Yale Italian Society)

Looking for a true taste of Italian pop culture? Join OISS and the Yale Italian Society for a day dedicated to the Sanremo Music Festival—the legendary event that stops the nation every year! 

We will be watching the iconic "Serata Duetti" (Covers & Duets Night), where Italy’s biggest stars perform alongside special guests. Whether you're a die-hard Måneskin fan or just curious about why all of Italy is glued to their TVs for a week, this is the event for you.

• We’ll start with a quick presentation explaining the Sanremo phenomenon. From its history as the inspiration for Eurovision to its status as the "Super Bowl of Italian Music".

• The Pizza Break: through the show, we’ll take a break for a pizza tasting—because you can’t truly experience Italian culture on an empty stomach!

• Be the Judge: In true Italian fashion, we won’t just watch. We’ll be grading the performers, picking our favorites, and comparing our "Yale Leaderboard" with the official rankings in Italy.

Open to the entire Yale community! No Italian skills required—just a love for music and good food.
