OISS X SATAY Songkran Celebration
Saturday, Apr 18, 2026
Courtyard behind McDougal Graduate Student Center (135 Prospect St) / Through Watson Center (60 Sachem St)
Celebrate the Thai New Year with us at Yale’s first ever Songkran Water Festival, a joyful tradition that symbolizes renewal, cleansing, and fresh beginnings!
Co-organized by Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) and the Student Association of Thais at Yale (SATAY), this event brings the spirit of Thailand to McDougal Courtyard with community and (light!) water play. We’ll have water balloons and toy water guns ready, so come prepared to get a little wet and fully embrace the fun.
Light refreshments will be provided, and everyone is welcome!
If you wish to participate in the water fight, please note that:
- You will get wet. To stay dry, please stay clear of the designated splash zone.
- You are recommended to bring spare clothes for changing, towels for drying, and optional gear for protection (goggles, waterproof pouches, etc.).
- Respect the indoors: please dry off completely before entering any Yale buildings.
- There are inherent risks with this outdoor water activity, please exercise caution at all times.
