Join OISS for a wholesome, joyous celebration of Oktoberfest!

While the original Oktoberfest was held to celebrate a royal wedding in Bavaria in 1810, today’s Oktoberfest is a beloved festival celebrating the folk culture, food, music, and community of southern Germany. Wouldn’t it be fun to experience that at OISS?

Our former Graduate Fellow and current McDougal International Fellow Kira Glasmacher (PhD ’30) from Germany will lead the evening program.

We’ll be making Bavarian soft pretzels together, trying themed refreshments (including non-alcoholic beer), and taking part in fun trivia to learn more about Oktoberfest and German culture!
