Come enjoy the first moments of summer at College Woods in East Rock Park, learn about local flora and fauna, and create your own "life list" for the species you hope to see during your time in New Haven!

This session will be led by OISS adviser Dan Riecker. Born and raised in Connecticut, Dan is an amateur naturalist and birder who is passionate about local biodiversity and conservation. We will begin with a short talk, after which you will be able to explore the park.

You will have the option to meet us directly at College Woods Park in East Rock at 5pm, or walk with us from OISS at 4:30pm.

We will also be raffling off 10 copies of "Connecticut Birds: A Folding Pocket Guide to Familiar Species" at the program, so you can continue your exploration after the event. You must be present to win, so be sure to join us!

You must register to attend. In case of inclement weather, OISS will be in touch on the morning of the program to cancel if necessary.
