The Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning invites you to our next 10th anniversary celebration event, Starting from Student Strengths: Asset-based learning for the 21st century. Led by the Office of Educational Opportunity, this event will explore how the wide diversity of knowledge and experience students bring to their educational endeavors serves as a foundation for creative, engaged, and rigorous student learning. Office of Educational Opportunity staff and student peer mentors will showcase this holistic approach to student learning that leverages existing student strengths as they engage in traditional academic pursuits and in the experiential learning opportunities that college provides. We’ll also discuss how students, staff, and faculty can create peer learning experiences that build a strong and collaborative learning environment throughout students’ college careers.
Reception to follow at 5pm.
