Teaching with technology extends beyond the pandemic-era zoomscape! Are you interested in continuing to utilize technology that works in the virtual space to engage your students in the in-person classroom? Do you want your students to hear from and learn from one another? Modern technological tools allow instructors to boost student engagement in the classroom in a variety of ways, and allow for many more “voices” to be heard within the classroom. Technology can be leveraged to promote peer-to-peer dialogue and foster a classroom environment in which students work together to construct knowledge. This ITW will focus on strategies such as the flipped classroom and a variety of platforms including, but not limited to, the Google Suite, Zoom and Canvas, to facilitate peer learning and real-time feedback in the classroom through the directed use of technology. For more information, please contact Emily Theus (emily.theus@yale.edu) and Delfina Gonzalez (delfina.gonzalez@yale.edu).

Please note: Intermediate Teaching Workshops (ITWs) count toward
the requirements for the Certificate of College Teaching Preparation (CCTP). They do not presuppose any previous engagement with the topic, but will draw on topics mentioned in the Fundamentals of Teaching/the CIRTL MOOC. For a refresher on key pedagogical terms you may have encountered in the Fundamentals or the CIRTL MOOC, please refer to our glossary.

This workshop will be held in person on February 8th.
