Are you aiming to foster an equitable and supportive classroom environment? Are you hoping to design lesson plans, assignments, and activities that are accessible and engaging to a breadth of students? In this four-part series, we will explore what it means to be equitable, become familiar with the scholarship on equitable teaching, and consider how inequity shapes our disciplines and the academy. Reflecting on the historical and structural contexts of the classroom, we will discuss how to create inclusive learning spaces and apply evidence-based equitable teaching strategies and assessment practices in our classroom. Participation in at least three of these sessions is required for the Certificate of College Teaching Preparation (CCTP). For more information, please contact Sarah Guayante (sarah.guayante@yale.edu) and Swathi Nachiar Manivannan (swathinachiar.manivannan@yale.edu).
