How do you develop the next generation of scientists, mathematicians, or engineers? This workshop will provide guidance on applying equitable and effective teaching strategies in Quantitative Reasoning (QR) courses, and more broadly, STEM subjects. These disciplines require teaching students logic and analytical skills through the lens of course content. We will define quantitative reasoning and highlight strategies to teach technical skills while promoting active engagement. By the end of this session, participants will be able to contextualize QR in their own classrooms, and implement these evidence-based strategies to achieve their own learning objectives. Contact William Chang (william.chang@yale.edu) and Jerry Xu (jerry.xu@yale.edu)with any questions.
