This 5-part series will walk you through drafting, refining, and submitting your fall 2026 research papers in the humanities or qualitative social sciences. Whether you’re writing a course paper, conference talk, or academic article, you will develop your confidence as a research writer, work on developing a flexible and reflective writing process, and experiment with different ways to contribute to an academic conversation while retaining your voice. The 5-session structure is designed to help you make steady progress, submit your paper on time, and build a foundation of skills for your future writing projects. The sessions include:

Part 1: Drafting Your Initial Questions & Starting to Read & Write (Tue, 10/6)
Part 2: Finding Your Problem Collective & Writing an Ethical Lit Review (Tue, 10/13)
Part 3: Developing a Critical-Curious Stance and Voice (Tue, 10/27)
Part 4: Honing Your Argument and Paper Structure (Tue, 11/3)
Part 5: Revising & Editing (Tue 11/10)

Intended audience: GSAS and professional school students in the humanities and qualitative social sciences
