There's an expression, "boricuas hasta en la luna," about how Puerto Ricans retain our identity even on the moon. The phrase hints at the challenge of so many diasporas: how do we maintain a common memory of our people and where we came from? How can we try to satisfy our nostalgia with a deeper, more informed understanding of our history? Alana Casanova-Burgess, host of the La Brega podcast, and Sergio Gutiérrez Negrón, the author of Los días hábiles, host a [lunch?] and lead a discussion of how both journalism and fiction can fill in the gaps in our broken memory while affirming a sense of belonging.
