We’ll be in discussion with Aliza Shatzman, the founder of the The Legal Accountability Project (LAP), a nonprofit aimed at ensuring that law clerks have positive clerkship experiences, while extending support and resources to those who do not. LAP’s main initiative is its Centralized Clerkships Database, populated with 800+ post-clerkship surveys submitted by former judicial clerks from across the country. LAP’s Database allows clerkship applicants to access more information about judges before making a decision about whether and with whom to clerk. It’s also the largest independent repository of clerkship information in the nation.
Aliza spoke at YLS in the fall about her clerkship experience and what LAP offers, but we’re having her back this semester because LAP recently announced that the Clerkship Database will be available to any clerkship candidate from any law school, whether or not their law school has subscribed (YLS hasn’t yet subscribed), via an individual subscriber option: more information on the subscription process, and LAP generally, is below.
ACS and the Title IX Student advocated want you to be aware that this resource exists, even if you choose not to subscribe, so that you can make informed decisions in your clerkship application process. We hope that you’ll join us on Monday, March 25 to discuss this with Aliza.
