The Yale Africa Innovation Symposium (YAIS) is an annual event that unites innovators, entrepreneurs, students, and professionals from across Africa and the globe to discuss the latest advancements and challenges in African development. Held at Yale University, the symposium serves as a platform to showcase cutting-edge ideas and solutions in areas like healthcare, education, sustainability, and economic growth. Through keynote speeches, panel discussions, interactive workshops, and pitch competitions, participants have the opportunity to exchange knowledge, build networks, and form partnerships aimed at driving innovation on the continent.

The 2025 edition, scheduled for February 7-8, will focus on harnessing innovation and investment for Africa’s sustainable development, with a gender-inclusive approach that highlights diverse perspectives. In addition to the core sessions, the event will feature a Gala, an elegant evening celebration that brings together speakers, participants, and distinguished guests for an evening of delicious food and incredible cultural performance. The gala provides a relaxed setting to deepen connections made during the symposium while celebrating African achievements. With its combination of academic dialogue, entrepreneurial spirit, and cultural immersion, YAIS continues to play a pivotal role in promoting African-led innovation and development at Yale.
