LaTeX is a powerful typesetting system used across mathematics, physics, linguistics, economics, and many other fields to produce polished papers, dissertations, and presentations.

Attendees will learn how to:

  • Structure and format LaTeX documents
  • Insert images, tables, and mathematical expressions
  • Find and use templates and packages to extend functionality
  • Locate and interpret LaTeX documentation
  • Generate simple bibliographies with ease (see tomorrow's workshop on Zotero for LaTeX users for the full experience)

Before the workshop, sign up for a free Overleaf account at https://overleaf.com using your Yale email. We will use Overleaf's web-based platform so we have the same user experience, although I'm happy to answer questions about using desktop-based LaTeX software.

Audience: Anyone at Yale who wants to get started with LaTeX and Overleaf, regardless of field or prior experience.

Workshop Incentive Program: Any student who attends at least 3 library workshops this semester will be eligible to receive a FREE Yale Library tote bag. Learn more here.

Registration: Required. This workshop will be held on Zoom.
