British cellist Steven Isserlis is an internationally acclaimed soloist, chamber musician, author, and broadcaster known for his wide-ranging repertoire from baroque to contemporary works. He has performed with leading orchestras worldwide and premiered major compositions by composers such as John Tavener and Thomas Adès. His award-winning recordings span core cello repertoire, including works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven, earning Grammy nominations and critical acclaim. Beyond performance, he is a celebrated author of books on music for both adults and children, a creative curator of major concert series, and a respected educator. Honored with a CBE by Elizabeth II, he has served since 1997 as Artistic Director of the International Musicians Seminar in Prussia Cove and performs on the 1726 “Marquis de Corberon” Stradivarius cello.
