About Us

YMPO is an undergraduate program dedicated to broadening the horizons of Yale students interested in medicine. Members have opportunities to learn about medicine directly from professionals by shadowing physician-mentors in their work environments. Students can also learn about health-related issues through various lectures, panel discussions, and events held throughout the year. Event topics include medically-related volunteer opportunities, conversations with admissions officers from various medical schools and physicians from a wide range of specialties, and local and international outreach work. Additionally, we understand the importance of teamwork and mentorship in fostering a community of future doctors and leaders in medicine by holding an annual mentoring program that connects Yale undergraduate students with Yale medical students.
