Supported by the Poynter Fellowship in Journalism at Yale, the Yale Undergraduate Linguistics Society will be hosting Adam Aleksic, better known as EtymologyNerd, for a talk on how social media is changing language. Aleksic, a graduate of Harvard University, is best known for creating educational linguistics videos on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, where he has built up over two million followers and more than a billion views across platforms. He will discuss online communication, the patterns behind contemporary language, and the role of media in linguistic creativity.
