BRINK! A Review of Books is a publication intended to re-open up a space on campus for inquisitive readers and writers to think carefully about a wide range of subjects through one of the most incisive modes of engagement there is: the book review. We believe that a book review is a natural conduit for imaginative and rigorous thinking that invites discussion and debate. Originally founded in 2017, the review aims to publish three issues a year of the highest quality of undergraduate writing.

We are a radically progressive collective of friends, writers, and thinkers dedicated to understanding the way power impacts our communities. We seek to use our writing as a platform for understanding the world around us with the hopes of ultimately overturning the status quo. We dream of a world centered around communities of love instead of economies of capital.

The US-China relationship is widely recognized as the most important bilateral relationship in the 21st century. The United States and China dominate the world in terms of economic output, military spending, and geopolitical influence. Leaders from both the US and China have endeavored to build a symbiotic relationship between the two countries. China Hands Magazine seeks to extend the project of strengthening US-China relations to students from both countries.

We see a dearth of student publications dedicated to promoting US-China relations on campuses in the US or China. In order to fulfill this mutual intellectual curiosity of students from both countries, we have built a platform for discussion and education about China-related issues and US-China relations.

The purpose of this organization is to amplify the diverse voices and interests of students of color at Yale, and to provide a safe space for those students to be their full selves. DOWN was born because of a dearth of excellent journalism covering the topics that matter to students of color at Yale. Our goal is primarily to provide that coverage. Our secondary goal is to provide a supportive space for students of color to challenge each other to become better writers, and to encourage and train new writers to help them find their voice. We achieve this goal through frequent writing workshops led by people like Mark Oppenheimer, Director of the Yale Journalism Initiative and various faculty members of the English Department at Yale.

Helicon: The Yale Undergraduate Journal of Classics is a literary magazine published every semester and widely distributed throughout the Yale community. It seeks to foster scholarship in the Classics by providing undergraduate students with a forum to print their writings. Published in a digital format, the journal provides accessible content in order to bridge perceived gaps between Classics and contemporary discussions. We accept submissions from undergraduate students around the world, aiming to establish a network of support and a sense of community among undergraduate, graduate students, and faculty in the Classics.

The Journal of Literary Translation (JoLT) publishes English translations of poetry and prose, as well as essays on the theory and practice of translation. A bi-annual magazine, JoLT seeks to showcase the excellent work of translators at Yale, to think critically about translation in a variety of contexts, and to explore metaphors for translation through the physical design of each issue. We also host readings and workshops to promote literary translation in the greater community at Yale.

Symposia is Yale's Premier Investigative Journalism group with a focus on academia and entrepreneurship in Health/Medicine, STEM, Social Sciences, and Humanities. This year we'll publish:
1) (New!) A video series profiling the diversity of labs and research centers on campus
2) Investigative journalism pieces and profiles showcasing the diversity of labs and research centers on campus and celebrating original undergraduate scholarship across all disciplines.

Our mission is to foster dialogue, passion, and creation at the intersection of the arts and sciences for the Yale community. We hope to do so in the following ways:

1. Produce a magazine of work that bridges the arts and the sciences for the Yale community,
and for this magazine of work to be generated collaboratively by a team rather than in a dispersed format, thereby encouraging student collaboration across disciplines.

The Yale Herald, a weekly Yale undergraduate publication, is nestled in the sweet spot between magazine and newspaper. Since 1986, the Herald has aimed to provide in-depth, analytical reporting and includes personal essays, interviews and profiles, culture articles, creative writing, reviews, humor, and feature coverage of campus and local happenings. With a circulation of over 2,000, the Herald is the second-highest circulated campus publication and is distributed free of charge throughout the Yale campus and New Haven businesses.

Our club, Yale Innovators Student Media Network, strives to serve the Yale entrepreneurial community by providing high-quality, informative, podcast-style multimedia content meant to showcase the work of student founders across Yale’s undergraduate and graduate programs. This media content is not only meant to serve as a medium for startup founders to expand their audience by reaching out to other Yale students and young entrepreneurs, but also to give these entrepreneurs an insight into the life and work that is needed to be successful at a startup, as well as the kinds of ideas and markets that can be tapped into. 

On top of the media production side, the club also seeks to connect startups and entrepreneurs with venture capital funds and investors that may be interested in these ideas in the long run, hoping to create lasting business partnerships.

The Yale Journal of Medicine and Law: An Undergraduate Publication is Yale's premier publication focusing on the ever-growing crossroads between law and medicine. Since its inception in 2003, the Journal has been at the forefront of issues like healthcare policy, bioethics, healthcare economics, biomedical research, and global health care. We have featured interviews with prominent figures including US Senators, directors of organizations such as the CDC and NIH, and the US Surgeon General. Our Executive Board is comprised of students from a variety of backgrounds with foci in both medicine and law, and our Advisory Board includes prominent academicians and leaders from Yale University and beyond. Our aim is to provide our wide readership with a view of the most pressing issues and exciting advances at the intersection of medicine and law.
