FIRST at Yale serves as a community of students dedicated to supporting FIRST. For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) is an international robotics competition for K-12 students that aims to teach professionalism and cooperative competition through hands-on engineering. Yale is home to hundreds of FIRST alumni, and the FIRST at Yale organization was founded in 2017 to give these alumni a home to continue FIRST's mission as well as welcoming new members to the FIRST community. FIRST at Yale members help mentor teams, provide support and a professional network, volunteer at competitions, and more.

Girls in Science aims to encourage girls in New Haven elementary schools, specifically economically disadvantaged students, to feel empowered in pursuing science, with the broader goal of increasing representation of women in the field of biological, chemical, and physical sciences, in which women are still underrepresented today, especially in positions of power. By (1) providing close mentorship by Yale undergraduates, (2) educating the students on current and historical women scientists, and (3) organizing small-group hands-on experiments in which the elementary school students actively participate in, Girls in Science strives to root curiosity and empowerment at the center of the students' motivation for pursuing the sciences.

The National Society of Black Engineers, as a national student and professional based organization, does hereby dedicate itself to the development of intensive programs for increasing African-American and other ethnic minority participation in the field of engineering and engineering technology. These programs will be initiated both within and outside the campus community and will serve to strengthen relations between professional industry and the African-American community. Members of the organization are encouraged to join and participate in their individual professional societies. This organization will endeavor to provide general counseling to all members. Tau Beta Pi is the second-oldest honor society in the United States, with active chapters at 250 U.S. colleges and universities with a total initiated membership of more than 595,000. The society was founded when the nation's oldest honor society, Phi Beta Kappa, sought to restrict its membership to students in the liberal arts. Only the top one-eighth of juniors and the top one-fifth of seniors are eligible for Tau Beta Pi membership, with elections at Yale held once a semester. Yale Tau Beta Pi is devoted to acknowledging engineering excellence, giving back to the Yale and New Haven community, and fostering a sense of community in the engineering departments via mentorship opportunities and student-faculty dinners.

Every year, WiP+ sends a Yale delegation to the American Physical Society's Conference for Undergraduate Women and Gender Minorities in Physics (CU*IP), where students present their research, learn about career opportunities in physics, and learn from other women and gender minorities in physics.
