Details

The Yale Korean Philosophy of Religion and Theology Graduate Conference provides a platform for master’s students and doctoral students to present on any aspect of philosophy of religion, theology, and religious thought within Korean studies. We welcome proposals that critically and constructively engage with and are informed by contemporary social concerns such as race, empire, gender and sexuality, transnational mobilities, modernity, and postcoloniality/decoloniality. Presentations that challenge, expand, and reinterpret the concept of “Korean” in religious ideas and practices are highly encouraged. Proposals may come from various academic fields, including, but not limited to, comparative religious studies, literary studies, intellectual history, anthropology, or ethnography – with the unifying focus on examining conceptions of “Korean” through the lens of philosophy and theology. Presenters and participants are expected to join us in-person. Travel expenses are not covered.

Those interested in presenting should submit a 300-word abstract.
