Details

Yale Department of Ob/Gyn is hosting a special screening of the documentary Below the Belt (directed and produced by Shannon Cohn) which follows the challenges of patients with endometriosis and exposes the widespread health disparities faced by women. Before the screening, we will watch a short intro video from former Senator and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. Following the documentary screening, we will have a panel discussion with Ob/Gyn faculty members, director/producer Shannon Cohn, and guests from around Connecticut who will speak about their personal experiences with endometriosis.

This screening and discussion will be an enlightening event for anyone who wants to better understand how societal taboo, gender bias, misinformation, and barriers to care can harm millions within our health system, while exploring the ways in which we can also improve healthcare for everyone.

Dinner will be provided, and a handful of dairy and gluten free meals will be offered! Read more about Below the Belt: https://www.belowthebelt.film/. Contact janice.crabtree@yale.edu with any questions.
