The Black Student Alliance at Yale (BSAY) is a multi-cultural organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of Black students at Yale through political action, community action, and social events. Understanding that the world changes for the better through the determined efforts of concerned people, and that we are strongest when we are united, BSAY exists in order to create that unity and foster that change in hopes of furthering the cause of equality. As a student-run organization, BSAY is responsible for advocating for the students at Yale, taking political stands, and creating the sense of community necessary to unite students to work for positive change. On campus, we strive to meet the needs of the Black community by holding weekly meetings that are pertinent to the lives of Black students on campus and that create a supportive community for all Black students at Yale. BSAY strives create a safe and active community in order to adequately represent and respond to the Black community. This sense of community must come from both current social activities and from a sense of shared history and culture. Our strength comes from not only the collective struggle of our contemporaries but also the cumulative struggles of thousands who have sacrificed before us. The Chinese American Students Association is designed to facilitate a Chinese American community that educates the Yale University campus on anything and everything that involves Chinese Americans and Asian Americans today. CASA tries to further political activism for Chinese American and Asian American interests on campus, seeking to be not only reactive but also proactive in its search to further the Chinese American/Asian American political agenda. CASA is heavily involved with the Asian American Students Alliance/Political Action Committee and works cooperatively with all the other organizations on campus in order to provide the optimal power and voice for the Chinese American community. In addition to nurturing political awareness concerning Chinese Americans, Chinese American Students Association also strives to promote social interaction and unity through numerous popular activities like hosting our annual Lunar New Year event, Cultural Show, mixers, and other social activities. CASA also plays a sizable role in organizing and driving many activities during Asian Pacific American month. Others include study breaks, karaoke nights and movie screenings. CASA also reaches beyond the Yale community by taking trips to New York's Chinatown, creating intercollegiate coalition with other CSAs such as Harvard's CSA and Columbia's CSC and inviting guest speakers to Yale. CASA also plays a role locally in New Haven, with a community outreach program seeks to encourage interaction between Yale and Chinese American children from the New Haven area.

The three goals of Trans@Yale are: to provide a safe space for transgender and/or non-binary students to form a community that provides emotional support and any needed medical advice; to work with the Yale administration to provide respect and support, individually and institutionally, for trans and non-binary students; and to engage with larger-scale sociopolitical advocacy and activism around issues affecting the trans community as well as other communities fighting for rights and recognition. The first goal will be achieved through hosting social events and meetings where students can be themselves and feel comfortable and safe, as well as hosting workshops and talks on key trans issues. The second goal will be achieved through student activism, and also by working with the Office of LGBTQ Resources and the Yale Administration to find and rewrite policies that currently exclude trans/non-binary students and/or make being trans and participating in a Yale-affiliated activity unusually difficult. The third goal will be achieved also through student activism, as well as collaboration with other on-campus organizations and New Haven groups.

DSA was founded with the intent of spreading awareness concerning the Dominican experience and culture. These goals shall be met through:

(a) Sponsoring informative and social events that will aid in addressing issues concerning Dominicans and other Latinos. These events shall be open to the entire Yale and New Haven community.

(b) Concentrating its efforts on recruitment and retention of Dominican students by developing academic and personal support networks for undergraduate students, and establishing networks with professionals and DSA alumni.

(c) Striving to serve Dominican communities in the United States and abroad through community service.

(d) Obtaining historical and updated information about the Dominican Republic, in order to serve as a resource to the Yale community on Dominican affairs.

We are a coalition dedicated to advocacy and community-building for all First-gen and/or low-income students at Yale. Throughout the year, we form task forces based on the projects that members want to work on, such as FGLI student-faculty mixers, financial aid literacy, and advocating for a FGLI-dedicated space on campus. In the midst of all of this advocacy, we also make sure to foster a safe space for FGLI folks to bond and form deeper relationships - if we don't support each other, who will?

As Yale's only umbrella Queer Activist organization, the Queer Student Alliance (QSA) has been a critical vehicle for Queer student activism on campus. The Queer Student Alliance (QSA) educates, mobilizes, and unites all Yale students against critical issues facing the LGBTQ+ community through community activism. Our purpose is to not only be reactionary to problems and incidents, but also to prevent them.We achieve this through a three-pronged approach: education, events, and policy that serves all Yale LGBTQ+ students. Through discussions, social media, and other mediums, we will facilitate intercultural and queer solidarity. We can best be defined as an umbrella organization that serves and reached all cultural houses and activist groups at Yale and preaches intersectionality. We aim to collaborate with trans@yale, mental health and environmental groups, cultural houses, etc. We seek to develop solutions to LGTBQ+ issues such as anti-LGBTQ extremism, toxic masculinity, mental health, and etc. The combination of both events like vigils/protests or political teach-ins, and bringing awareness to the campus via education, we can actively advocate for change for issues that mean most to us. We hope to call for systemic change and reform throughout Yale and beyond and better the lives of LGBTQ+ people everywhere.
