About Us

The Dred Scott Society is a pan-affinity group for all students of color (BIPOC & PGM), regardless of their specific race of nationality, who identify as being descendants of oppressed, colonized, segregated, and enslaved peoples (aka UDEC - United Descendants of the Enslaved and Colonized). It is a space for students of color who have felt the consequences of de jure and de facto white supremacy in their own lives, and who are dedicated to confronting these forces both during and after law school. In short, Dred Scott Society members are committed to using the law, and every tool in our united toolbox, to sue for our collective liberation.
