Designing your own course but don’t know where to start? Whether it's your first time leading your own course or you're just interested in improving your teaching, this two-part Advanced Teaching Workshop will walk you through where to start, what to focus on, and how to build an equitable and engaging curriculum. In this workshop, we will write learning objectives, design assessments, and build the week-by-week design of a course. Prior to each session, participants will complete 10- to 15-minute guided reflections on the course they are designing. Participants should be prepared to apply Bloom’s Taxonomy, Backwards Design, and Universal Design for Learning throughout both sessions, so please review these concepts from the Fundamentals of Teaching workshops here: tinyurl.com/CTLFundGloss. For more information or with any questions, contact Micah Siegel (micah.siegel@yale.edu) and Will Johnson (will.johnson@yale.edu).

Please note: Advanced Teaching Workshops (ATWs) count toward the requirements for the CCTP. This ATW is part of our Academic Job Search series, and is especially appropriate for participants preparing for the academic job market, but this is not required.
