This workshop explores theory and strategy for incorporating multiple forms of media—which may include videos, images, sound, or even objects from collections around Yale—in your teaching in order to achieve your learning goals and promote student engagement. This workshop begins with a discussion of research on the inclusion of varied forms of media in multiple instructional formats: assignments, lecture, and section. Participants will then work collaboratively to develop best practices for smoothly integrating diverse forms of media with their personal teaching styles. For more information, contact Chelsea Connelly (chelsea.connelly@yale.edu) or Will Johnson (will.johnson@yale.edu).

Please note: Intermediate Teaching Workshops (ITWs) count toward the requirements for the CCTP. ITWs do not presuppose any previous engagement with the topic, but will draw on topics mentioned in the Fundamentals of Teaching/the CIRTL MOOC. For a refresher on key pedagogical terms you may have encountered in the Fundamentals or the CIRTL MOOC, please refer to our glossary.

This workshop will be held on Zoom.
