Fundamentals of Equitable Teaching: Virtual (4 of 4)

Are you interested in learning teaching strategies that help foster an inclusive environment in your classroom? Would you like to discuss strategies to create an equitable and transparent setting for all students with differing access needs? Do you want to better understand how "the hidden curriculum" influences students' learning and participation? This four-part online series will focus on universal design for learning, strategies for creating a supportive and flexible classroom environment, and tools for equitable and transparent assessment of all students. In this workshop we will define what it means to be inclusive, become familiar with the scholarship on inclusive teaching, drawing in part from the disability studies community, and learn evidence-based teaching strategies you can put into practice immediately. For more information about the series and/or to discuss any access needs you may have in advance, please contact Will Johnson (will.johnson@yale.edu) or Cat Slowik (catherine.slowik@yale.edu).

Please note: This workshop series counts toward the Fundamentals of Teaching series requirement for the Certificate of College Teaching Preparation (CCTP), and does not presuppose any previous engagement with the topic.

This four-part workshop series will be held online on 2/10, 2/17, 2/24, and 3/3.
