12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
What information do we need to convince people to invest in forests and know that they are doing good?
The carbon markets are flourishing, and nature-based solutions have been making headlines, presented in both a positive and negative light. What needs to happen to build confidence in forest carbon as a viable climate solution? Join our conversation with a variety of forestry and carbon professionals from academia, business, and the non-profit sectors to unwrap the nuances of forest carbon.
5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
What is the role of the forest sector in ecosystem restoration? How can we create collaboration and scale up our efforts? Join this conversation with global leaders in forestry about their main takeaways from TFD's dialogue on restoration.
6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Join TFD, ISTF & TFS for a café-style reception in which attendees will have the chance to rotate through discussion tables organized by geographic region--North America, Latin America/Caribbean, Europe, Africa & Asia--to dialogue with TFD Steering Committee members about various critical questions related to forestry in their region.
5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
How will critical conservation and restoration targets shape agricultural landscapes and their communities?
Join us for a panel discussion with forest-sector leaders on the role of community engagement, participation, and leadership in balancing sustainable natural resource management and agricultural production. This conversation will draw on lessons from TFD's Land Use Dialogue initiative and the landscape approach, merging lenses on land use strategies, environmental policy, indigenous rights, and gender as they relate to food production in and near critical ecosystems.
6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Join us for an informal career chat after the Food Systems in the Landscape Panel with TFD Steering Committee members (https://theforestsdialogue.org/about/steering-committee). Steering Committee members in attendance will include Cecile Ndjebet, Francisco Rodriguez, Ara Erickson, Marthe Tollenaar, Kerry Cesareo, Sarah Price, Fernanda Rodrigues, Carolina Toapanta, Marcus Colchester, Ivone Namikawa and more!
5:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Join The Forest School, The Forests Dialogue, and Yale Environmental Women for an informal discussion with women at the forefront of Forestry & Conservation around the world. We will be joined by TFD Steering Committee members (please see TFD website for a full list) and participants of TFD's Restoration Scoping Dialogue. Students will have the chance to ask questions relating to participants' work, professional expertise, & career journey.
