Fundamentals of Teaching in the Humanities (Session 4 of 4)

Are you teaching a section or a seminar in the humanities this year, and interested in refining your pedagogy alongside fellow graduate instructors? Are you interested in improving your pedagogical practice alongside other graduate student instructors? Then join our workshop on the Fundamentals of Humanities! After covering strategies for designing weekly lesson plans, we will work together to consider the place of equity in the classroom and our role as instructors in fostering equitable classroom environments. Finally, we will focus on the logistics of building productive student conversations about a range of texts and topics across the disciplines as well as methods for grading and classroom assessment. Participating in at least three of the four sessions is required for the Certificate of College Teaching Preparation (CCTP). For more information, please contact Ben Card (ben.card@yale.edu) and Katherine Ponds (katherine.ponds@yale.edu).

This four part event will take place: Wed 9/6, 9/13, 9/20, 9/27
