Details

Graduate students and young faculty are uniquely positioned to serve as mentors to undergraduates. Yet effective mentorship is often a neglected facet of instruction. How can we be the most effective mentors for the undergraduate students we teach? In this workshop, we will discuss recent research on mentoring as well as concrete tools to build a successful mentor-mentee relationship that will be beneficial for both you and your mentee. We will analyze different ways of providing intellectual, professional, and social support to your mentees as well as concrete ways to set clear boundaries and expectations on your mentoring relationship. The content of this workshop will be relevant for instructors in all disciplines. This workshop will be held virtually on Zoom.
