During the pandemic we have shifted our work into digital space, where creating a collaborative class environment has become a challenge. Even before the virus, distance teaching has been a fast-growing occupation. In this workshop we will break down the obstacles that we face creating a sense of community over the internet, discuss evidence-based solutions, and practice implementing those strategies by designing remote community-building activities. For more information, contact christopher.forney@yale.edu and valeriia.mutc@yale.edu. This ATW counts toward the Poorvu Center's Certificate of College Teaching Preparation (CCTP) requirement for a "topic engaging technology."
