Join us for a discussion-based workshop series where we explore current controversies in pedagogy by engaging with a variety of current literature on the scholarship of teaching and learning. Each session will focus on one of the following topics: lecturing vs. active learning; technology vs. traditional teaching; inclusivity and bias; and the future of online learning. You will have the opportunity to reflect on your teaching, have frank conversations with an interdisciplinary group of peers, and prepare informed answers to job market questions. Attendees should be prepared to do c. 30 minutes of reading per session. For more information, contact ievgeniia.sakal@yale.edu and catherine.slowik@yale.edu. Workshops take place on March 3, March 10, March 17, and March 31.
