The National Alliance On Mental Illness (NAMI) has designated September as National Suicide Prevention Month. In addition, October 6 is National Depression Screening Day. In recognition of these two important mental health initiatives, learn MHFA fundamentals to support someone experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge or crisis. How to Help introduces the importance of understanding and responding to signs of substance misuse and mental health challenges, while considering the role of culture and the barriers of stigma that may exist.

In this one-hour webinar, participants will be introduced to Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), a skills-based training that teaches participants about mental health and substance use challenges and how best to offer support and connect to professional resources.

This webinar is presented by certified MHFA instructor, Danielle Casioppo, MS, Education Specialist and Coordinator with Being Well at Yale. Information about upcoming MHFA certification courses will also be provided.

Open to all Yale affiliates. Zoom webinar registration required. Webinar will be recorded and shared with registrants.
