Water is undervalued, yet its scarcity poses significant risks for businesses, investors, and economies. It is a material financial risk, with an estimated $500 billion annual investment gap to achieve SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation for All. As water scarcity intensifies, businesses, investors, and policymakers must rethink how water is valued and priced. In an era of climate driven risks, how can economic incentives, corporate responsibility, and investment strategies align? How can we integrate nature and water risk into investment decision making for future resilience? And what are the financing mechanisms needed to fund and scale climate technology solutions?

This session explores how nature-based and water-related risks are being integrated into financial decision-making, and how emerging tools and financing models can bridge the resilience gap. We’ll hear from leading voices in business, finance, and innovation to unpack how they are tackling these challenges, and the skills needed to drive this transformation.

Panelists:

  • Matt Haddon, Global Leader, Nature and Water Voyager, ERM
  • Dr. Pradipta Parhi, Executive Director in J.P. Morgan’s Climate Technology, Innovation and Strategic Investment team
  • Max Storto, Xylem, Director, Innovation Strategy and Venture Capital [TBC]
