Fellows' Tips of the Week

Nakeirah and Billy's Tip of the Week -

Spooky season isn't over yet! In addition to the great programming GSL fellows are doing this weekend, there's still plenty of fall activities you can do! Bishop's Orchard has their pumpkin patch going through Halloween, along with other festivities like a corn maze and a stop on the CT Wine Trail! They also have live music on weekends!

Alycia and Helen's Arts and Culture Tip of the Week -
Have you been missing the theater! Well the Long Wharf Theater presents A Little Bit of Death an outdoor production exploring mortality, resilience, and rebirth. Tickets have gone on sale so hurry-up and check it out as seating will be limited! For more info click: Here

Sarah and Tayah's West Campus Tip of the Week -
Need a fun, virtual, space-themed, social deduction game to play with your friends? Check out Among Us for free on your app store.

Larissa and Adrian's Health and Wellness Tip of the Week -
Do you want an all-in-one item that's good for cooking, lotion, hair conditioner, makeup remover, and many other uses? Get coconut oil! See more uses of coconut oil here.

Liam's Flu Shot Tip of the Week -
If there's a CVS near you, you can use Yale Health to get a flu shot there even if you're living remotely, far from Yale! Just go to Yale Health's website, scroll down to "flu" (in the area highlighted in yellow) and click "visit our flu page," and then on the next page scroll down to click "find your flu shot tool." You'll be led through a quick and easy wizard that will give you a voucher, which can be traded for an efficient jab of inoculation at your nearest CVS for no charge. Let Yale work for you even if you're not around

Jen's Tip of the Week -
Feeling some pre-election stress and anxiety? Here are a few free programs available to help you navigate this stressful time. The Kripaulu Center for Yoga and Health has a program entitled NAVIGATING ELECTION ANXIETY WITH RESILIENCE. The Heart Mind Institute is offering a 7-Day Resilience Challenge, to help you build the resilience you need to not only survive but thrive in these times of uncertainty and adversity.

Lisa's Anti-Loneliness Tip of the Week -
With COVID-19, everyone can feel stressed or lonely at times, whether you are on campus or learning remotely. You CAN cultivate Connections to help combat isolation, like taking 15 minutes a day to connect virtually with someone - try the tips here or check out the Happiness Lab podcasts by Yale Prof. Laurie Santos.

Jo McDougal's Cocktail Tip of the Week -
Didn't make it to the popular GSL Social Fellows Whiskey Cocktail class with Amity Wine & Spirits last week? We'll post the recipes on social media, and you can download the new enjoy.amitywine app for specials, online ordering & delivery, or visit their store in Westville at 95 Amity Road.
