We stand in solidarity with the AAPI community against race-based hatred and violence. We are incredibly saddened by the horrific attack that occurred in Atlanta last week, and are disturbed by the increase in incidence of race-based hate crimes over the past year, particularly in relation to the pandemic. As Dean Cooley mentioned in her message to GSAS on Friday, "We must circle around and support those who are victims of violence. At the Graduate School, we condemn any attempt to humiliate or terrorize anyone based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation or any human trait. Here we celebrate our diverse community, and everyone is valued and welcome."
